GRAPHIC UPLOAD GUIDELINES:
In addition to and in reiteration of the standard GemStone 3 restrictions on library file uploads, all members are requested to read and follow the guidelines listed below before uploading graphics (including creative works and maps) to the GemStone 3 software library.
GRAPHIC FORMATS:
All graphic files must be *uncompressed* (no ZIP or SIT files) and in GIF or JPG format. As of April 1, 1997 graphic formats other than GIF or JPG will no longer be accepted in the GemStone 3 library. CHARACTER PORTRAITS:
Character portraits should not be uploaded without express permission from that particular character's player.
COPYRIGHT CONSIDERATIONS:
YOU are LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE for files YOU upload!
* Graphic files MUST be uploaded by the artist/author. To indicate this, we require that you include your real name or character name AND your screen name in the AUTHOR: line of the information you provide when you upload. For example:
AUTHOR: Fobaesyt Giwelly (JohnDoe171)

AUTHOR: John Doe (JohnDoe171)
If we think there is some doubt that a file was created by the uploader, we will require that the file be uploaded again with a specific statement that "This file was created by <Player or Character Name>, Copyright <Year>" before we will release the file.
* All graphic files MUST be your own original creations. Graphics created from the modified work of other artists can't be released in the GemStone 3 library. Going beyond copyright laws (you may not legally distribute the work of another person without their permission), GemStone 3 wishes all files in our libraries to be the original creations of our players.
* If you did a scan/capture from a publication, software program, album cover, catalog, television, video or any published source or unpublished source and you do not hold the copyright or distribution rights to the original image, DO NOT UPLOAD IT! - not even if you've modified the original.
* If you obtained a scan or image from a BBS, CD, friend, or any other form of electronic transfer - DO NOT UPLOAD IT! - not even if you've modified the original.
Scanned images uploaded with AUTHOR: Unknown or with no author listed will not be downloaded for pre-release verification.
UNACCEPTABLE CONTENT:
America Online, Inc. strictly prohibits the transfer or posting of pornographic images online. To do so may lead to immediate and permanent termination of your account. Pornographic uploads to this forum will be immediately reported to AOL security for further action.

In addition to the standards set by AOL Terms of Service, the GemStone 3 staff may refuse graphics which are deemed to be in "poor taste" in the choice of subject matter or content. Judgement of all graphic content is left to the discretion of the GemStone 3 library staff.
To insure the satisfaction of the majority of our downloading members we must refuse poor quality scans and graphics. While we hesitate to judge the artistic merit of graphic uploads, drawings which are very poorly done may be refused as they are unlikely to be of much interest to other members.
